Random Ortho Trivia

1. If you are right handed, you probably chew most of the time with the teeth on the right side of your mouth.

2. Around 400 B.C. in Greece, the great medical scientist Hippocrates wrote of attempts to straighten teeth.

3. Dr Edward Angle (1855-1930) is considered to be "The Father of Modern Orthodontics". He founded the world's first school for orthodontic education in St. Louis, Missouri in 1989.

4. As recently as the 1960's, it could take 8 hours to put braces on a patient.

5. Model Cindy Crawford, singer Gwen Stafani and actress Cameron Diaz have all worn braces as adults.

Soft Crust Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

1 Tbl corn meal
3 cups biscuit mix
1 1/2 cups water
cooking spray (Pam)
2 to 3 cups purchased pizza sauce
1 to 1 1/2 cups of grated mozzarella cheese
Your choice of toppings:green peppers, sausage, cooked and crumbled bacon, pepperoni slices, mushrooms, etc.  chopped in small pieces

Preheat oven to 450*. Pre bake crust for 4 minutes, then bake complete pizza for 13 minutes.

Sprinkle corn meal all over a cookie sheet or pizza pan.  In a large bowl, with a spoon, stir together the biscuit mix and the water.  Sprinkle your hands with flour, then pat dough into pan.  Build dough up at edges to form rim to hold in sauce.  Spray crust with cooking spray.  Bake for 4 minutes.

Carefully pour sauce on top of crust, then add toppings and cheese.  Bake for 13 minutes, checking that edges are just golden to keep them soft.  Yummy!!!
